Innkeeper Diana de la Vega joined the Villa Marco Polo Inn on 15 December 2013. She has worked in the hospitality business since 2006, first on cruise ships, then in hotels, and food and beverage. In Victoria since 2008, she lives at the inn with her husband, Alex, who works in hotel maintenance and engineering. Trilingual, she speaks English, French, and Spanish.
Manager Danusia Quaranta, a native of Torun, Poland, and a graduate of a University Hospitality Program, came to the Villa in 2010, and continues to captivate guests with her charm, her delicious muffins, and her knowledgeable concierge services, whilst overseeing the maintenance of a stunning property.
Associate Innkeeper Wanja Munaita, is a graduate of the Hospitality Program at the University of Finland. Prior to coming to the Villa Marco Polo Inn in 2011, she was on staff at the famed Wickininnish Inn in Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Wedding Planner Mario Lopez joined the Villa team in September 2013, and has since choreographed weddings, receptions, and special events. His resumé includes event planning at both Feys & Hobbs Catered Arts and Church & State Winery.
Eliza Livingston, founder of the Matt’s Climb Foundation, who with Clarke Bingham is the proprietor, has a background in theatre, and is a retired midwife and psychotherapist. The Villa Marco Polo’s style and ambiance reflect her fascination and love for the Middle East, where she has lived in Shiraz, Iran, and Beirut, Lebanon.
