Fishing
Vancouver Island fishing opportunities abound. Spring Salmon, also known as Chinook or Spring Salmon, weigh in typically in the 3-60 pound range, with Chinooks over 30 pounds called Tyees. Although the winter salmon are smaller than the summer fish, they are still great fighters and are excellent eating. From March through August is halibut season, with these great creatures typically weigh in at the 40 -100 pound range. Lingcod are fished from June through September.
